My graphite work is where detail and discipline meet imagination. Each piece is carefully rendered to capture not only likeness, but also the deeper essence of the subject—whether it’s a cultural icon, a moment in history, or a personal commission. With over a decade of experience as a professional artist, I use graphite to show how simplicity and precision can create timeless impact. These illustrations highlight the foundation of my artistic practice, reflecting my belief that art is not bound by location but has the power to inspire and connect across communities. Clients can expect highly detailed, expressive work that communicates authenticity and legacy, crafted with the same dedication I bring to all of my mediums.
My very first commission as an entrepreneur was creating the cover art for the Evansville African American Museum’s Bicentennial Book. For this project, I hand-illustrated nine images, six of which were selected for the final publication. I then refined and shaped them digitally using Photoshop—marking my first professional use of digital tools and my first experience blending traditional and digital art in a single project. This commission was both a creative and professional milestone, giving me the opportunity to honor history while stepping into new territory as an artist. It set the foundation for how I approach projects today.
When I speak of The Great Dr. I’m thinking of one of two people. That’s Alfredo Bowmen ie Dr. Sebi, or The Great MLK. This graphite portrait of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was created as both a study in detail and a tribute to one of the greatest leaders of our time. Through the precision of graphite, I sought to capture the strength in his gaze and the calm conviction that defined his legacy. For me, this work represents more than a likeness—it is a reminder of the dream he carried, the sacrifices he made, and the inspiration he continues to give generations worldwide. The piece stands as both homage and reflection, honoring Dr. King’s enduring impact through the timeless power of art.
This graphite drawing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna “GiGi” is one of my most heartfelt works, created to honor their legacy after their tragic passing. Rendered with delicate precision and emotional depth, the piece captures not only their likeness but the powerful bond between father and daughter. For me, it represents more than portraiture—it is a tribute to family, perseverance, and the inspiration Kobe and GiGi gave to the world. This drawing holds a special place in my collection as both a personal expression and a reminder of the impact they continue to have across generations.
